Rockabillque Florida was an unforgettable experience for Vintage Girl Studios, where I had the honor of serving as a judge for the pinup pageant hosted by Pinup Miami. Witnessing the gathering of over thirty incredible women, all celebrating one another's unique styles, was truly heartwarming. The culmination of the evening was the crowning of Miss Rockabilque 24, and my heartfelt congratulations go out to the stunning Miss Holly Pena and all the amazing participants.

Photographing with the Fuji Film hybrid instant camera was an absolute joy. It not only allowed me to capture beautiful moments but also facilitated the creation of numerous new connections and friendships.
NYC Vintage Train 2023
A few years ago, I came across captivating images of the Nostalgia Train, a holiday tradition in New York City. During select weekends, an underground party unfolded on a subway platform, featuring lively jazz musicians and swing dancers. Despite my desire to attend, the demands of work and family always kept me away, and then the onset of Covid abruptly halted the event.
Surprisingly, last week, news of the event mysteriously reappeared on my social media feed. It seemed the stars had aligned, and I found myself en route to the New York Vintage Train 2023.
Organized by passionate locals, this event remains somewhat under the radar, as its organizers prefer not to announce it publicly until after it takes place. These volunteers are driven by a shared love for jazz music, swing dancing, and vintage fashion. It's noteworthy that they operate independently, not as a non-profit or for-profit entity, and have no affiliation with the MTA or the NY Transit Museum.

Thank you everyone for a wonderful 2021. I'm so excited for this year's logo girl. I usually plan and sew for months but like most people had been feeling meh and were extremely busy navigating these times. I was planning to travel this NYE which was canceled for obvious reasons. I decided to do what I love and planned a few creative sessions last week.
This Roller Skating Logo I think is one of my favorite images at this time. It has my love of roller skating, new skate projects and collaborations on the horizon, Sewing the dress, and Kathy our 2022 Logo girl is a legit hero (Nurse).

In early 2021 Ann reached out to collaborate on a special session.
We talked about her disability and she related how MS is a day-to-day battle. One of the toughest aspects of living with MS for her is that some days she has few visible signs, but those days can be followed by painful ones when she can hardly walk.
Over the past few years, Ann's mobility has become more of a challenge and she has recently purchased a wheelchair. Our session's goal was to celebrate this new chapter of her life. I have always admired Ann's energy and positivity and we had such a wonderful day.

Last year we had had the pleasure of working with a client. She had mentioned that she had made her dress. I instantly had questions for people who sew because I'm always learning. During our session, she mentioned that she was creating a 1700's gown using traditional African fabrics.
I told her that when was finished she needed to come back so I can photograph her properly.
I was looking forward to this session all winter. I wanted to photograph her like a beautiful painting. I have found a new appreciation for people who create these types of art pieces.

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who supported the studio in 2020. Because of your love, we will be here in 2021.
We are very excited to announce our 2021 logo girl Koko. We met this model at Niki Luparelli's pin-up contest in 2019 where she was crowned Miss Worcester Pin-up. After Koko's prize photo session, we noticed that the camera loved her beauty and confidence and asked her to return.
Our stylist Mackensie did an amazing job on Koko's hair and make-up to give her a variety of different looks.
In 2020 we had opened our online store with custom wardrobe. For our 2nd session, we had created most of Koko's wardrobe for her session.
We are still working out plans for 2021. We already started travel plans for 2022.

We just wanted to take a moment to say Thank you to all our clients who have been with us through the COVID Crisis. Thank you for your flexibility in this trying time for a small creative business. We are prepping our studio and will be opening up our schedule to new clients on August 1st. We are so excited.
If you have been to the studio before you might have heard me mention my Grandmother in law " Grandma Caldarone" She celebrated her 100 birthday in April and became an Angel in May. You might have borrowed her gloves, held her Iron, posed with her blender, and many other things she has donated to the studio over the years. She really would light up when I asked her questions about fashion and life in the 30s through the 60s. I love telling her stories and will miss her very much. As our family is cleaning her home slowly I asked if I could take her sewing machine and supplies. My mother had taught me the basics at 12 and I wanted to share that knowledge with my daughter during this time. I had not touched a sewing machine since my eighth grade home economics class. My daughter had lost interest within a day but I felt great creating. It was truly refreshing not to look at a screen to create.
We would like to announce that Vintage Girl Studios a new upgrade to our sessions. Our biggest question has been about the wardrobe. Will be offering custom made Wardrobe. You are welcome to come in for fittings before your session. You will have a choice of style, colors, and patterns to choose from. You will be able to keep your wardrobe in the end.
