The Greater Boston Vintage Society invites you to celebrate the 1920’s - 40’s with its first annual “Newport Art Deco Weekend”! This event will take place at Salve Regina’s amazing Fairlawn Estate (aka Pell Center/Young Building). This beautiful estate was built in the 1850’s and used as a private home for most of its life until being converted for school and college use. With grand ballrooms and a vast lawn right on Bellevue Ave, it is the perfect place to experience life in the period. The estate is currently used as a student dormitory and to host conferences. It is also home to the university’s Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy.
The weekend will consist of many period themed activities and classes. Friday night will have a neighborhood walk and social evening for overnight guests. Saturday will consist of a series of workshops followed by a trip into town for dinner and then a live band black-tie ball with “Dan Gabel and the Abletones”! Live music can only play till 11pm, but we will keep DJ music going till late. Alcoholic drinks will be for sale at affordable pricing.

Vintage Girl Studios will be on the grounds on Saturday May 28th documenting the event as well as shooting Tintypes and Polaroid portraits of the lawn party lunch.
